This year marks the 100th anniversary of Bernard Leach having started making
pots in Abiko, Chiba, Japan in 1917. 2020 will also be the 100th anniversary
since Leach and Shoji Hamada moved to St Ives, England from Japan to establish
the Leach Pottery which greatly contributed histories of the British studio
pottery and the Japanese Mingei Movement.
The exhibition showcases work strongly connecting to the British studio
pottery and the Mingei Movement.
Work shown at the exhibition include:
Slipware Dish (Staffordshire, England | 18th century)
Bernard Leach (bowls / tile / etchings)
Shoji Hamada etc.
